The new CT Social Studies Frameworks offer opportunities to delve deeper into struggles for freedom, equality, and social justice in American history. Educators will learn about the Fairfield Museum’s rich array of classroom tools to teach about slavery in the north and Connecticut. Speakers and guests include: Christine Jewell, Director of Education; Dan Broyld, Central CT State University; Tom Thurston, Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Resistance, and Abolition at Yale University; and Ian Lowell, Monroe Public Schools.
