Ogden House & Dooryard Garden

Every Sunday beginning Memorial Day, 5/30 through Labor Day, 9/5 from 1-4pm

In case you’re unfamiliar with our Ogden House property, this colonial saltbox house was built in 1750 for David Ogden at the time of his marriage to Jane Sturges. For the next 125 years, it was home for the Ogden family in the farming and coastal shipping town of Fairfield. The property once included nearly 75 acres of farmland and several outbuildings. Today, the Ogden House welcomes visitors to discover more about the life of a colonial family.

Members are free, non-members $5, students/seniors $3. Cash only, please.

The Dooryard Gardens are generously maintained by the Fairfield Garden Club.

Connecticut Open House Day at the Ogden House & Dooryard Garden

June 11 @ 10:00am-4:00pm

The Fairfield Museum is participating in CT’s Open House Day—a statewide celebration of CT’s fascinating world of art, history, and cultural treasures. Enjoy tours of the 1750 Ogden House to see how people lived in the 18th Century and stroll through the historic Dooryard Garden, generously maintained by the Fairfield Garden Club. We will also have an archeology display and a living history demonstration for you to enjoy.
