The Fairfield Museum’s Digital Learning Platform provides virtual school programs, activities, and online resources for students, teachers and learners of all ages!

Programs include:

Creating Community
Recommended for grades 3-5

This 3-part program complements the Museum’s exhibition Creating Community: Exploring 375 Years of Our Past. Watch Q&A videos with educator Darlene Kascak, of the Schaghticoke Tribal Nation, discussing Daily Life, Food & the Land, Life after European Settlement, and Rules & Laws of Early Native Americans. Explore Fairfield’s Industries of farming, shipping, the railroad, and manufacturing through a selection of museum objects. Coming to Fairfield presents the concept that communities are a blend of people from different places and backgrounds and highlights 8 individuals who moved to Fairfield at various times and for different reasons.

The Burning of Fairfield: 1779
Recommended for grades 5-8

Use this program to enhance your unit on the American Revolution. Learn about the British invasion and the 1779 Burning of Fairfield, and how it impacted the town and its residents. The Town section focuses on events leading up to the Revolution, residents choosing to be a Patriots or Loyalists, the events of the Burning, and the rebuilding of Fairfield. The People section spotlights 9 Fairfield individuals connected to the American Revolution and the Burning, with short bios and quotes.
