Learn to draw with pen and ink, the old fashioned way! This method is still the one preferred by cartoonists,
calligraphers, and manga illustrators, and goes back thousands of years when a feather quill dipped in ink was one of the first writing tools. In this hands-on drawing workshop, students will look at pen and ink artwork created by some of the best fine artists and commercial illustrators, including originals by Robert Lawson on display in the museum gallery. They will create their own pen and ink illustration using dip nib pens and India ink. Techniques in line and cross hatching will be introduced.
