SUMMARY:7/7/26: Burning of Fairfield Guided Walking Tour
DESCRIPTION:On July 7\, 1779\, Fairfield residents awoke to the sound of a cannon—a warning from the fort at Black Rock. A British fleet had been spotted anchoring off the coast. No one predicted the destruction that was about to occur. Join us for a special guided walking tour detailing the British raid. Discover the homes that survived the invasion unscathed and hear of the sacrifices made for American independence from British rule. \nRegistration is required. $15 for Members; $20 for Non-Members. \n  \nProgram Details \n\nPre-registration is required—no drop-ins will be allowed.\nTours are approximately 90 minutes long and will start promptly.\nTour Location: Tours will meet in the Fairfield Museum.\nNo physical ticket will be mailed. Check in using your name.\nThis program is recommended for adults and kids ages 12 and up.\nPlease dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. We will be standing and walking for extended periods.\nIn case of inclement weather\, the Fairfield Museum will make every effort to reschedule the tour. Please check the Fairfield Museum website (www.fairfieldhistory.org) for weather-related updates.\nNo refunds will be given unless the program is cancelled by the Fairfield Museum.
