Please check the Fairfield Museum website (www.fairfieldhistory.org) for weather-related updates. \nPlease do not set up chairs/blankets before 4 pm. \nFree \n  \n  \nAbout the Performer\nJim Royle’s name has become synonymous with jazz in the New England club circuit and his articulate playing is documented on several CDs\, including Storm Before the Calm on the Sea Breeze Jazz label (2000)\, as well as the more recent Jazz By Coogan\, showcasing Jim’s small-group talents. Jim is the drummer for the prestigious New England Jazz Ensemble big band\, which is the combined product of Walt Gwardyak (pianist of the famous Buddy Rich Band). Jim’s latest CD with the John Judd Jazz Trio. Jim was added to the Western CT State University summer faculty in 2006\, where he was in residence to present a week-long steel drum workshop. Jim Royle was also added to the prestigious faculty roster for KoSA Percussion Workshop 2007 to present in Vermont\, and Montreal. \n  \nJazz Fridays at the Fairfield Museum is made possible by the generous support of Alan and Sylvia Neigher\, Bank of America\, and the CT Arts Endowment Program.

Please check the Fairfield Museum website (www.fairfieldhistory.org) for weather-related updates. \nFree \n  \nAbout the Performer \nSaxophonist and recording artist Greg Wall has recorded with Greg Wall’s Later Prophets\, Andy Laverne\, Hasidic New Wave\, the Greg Wall/Frank London Band\, Zion80\, Portal\, Kenny Barron\, the Unity Orchestra\, and has made many session appearances for record dates and film scores. After settling in Westport CT in 2013\, Greg revisited his classic Jazz roots and soon started weekly performances with many of his long-time NYC collaborators. The audience he developed led to the creation of JazzFC in 2016\, where he serves as Artistic Director. \nGreg programs JazzFC’s popular Jazz at the Post series at Westport’s VFW\, and regularly performs there with such luminaries as Ted Rosenthal\, Steve Davis\, James Weidman\, Kenny Wessel\, Sylvia Cuenca\, Paul Bollenback\, Harvie S\, and many other world renowned Jazz masters. \nThe lineup:\nGreg Wall\, tenor and soprano saxophones\nKen Wessel\, guitar\nRich Zurkowski\, bass\nDavid Alvarez\, drums \n  \nJazz at the Fairfield Museum is made possible by the generous support of Alan and Sylvia Neigher\, Bank of America\, and the CT Arts Endowment Program.

Please check the Fairfield Museum website (www.fairfieldhistory.org) for weather-related updates. \nPlease do not set up chairs/blankets before 4 pm. \n  \nFree \n  \nAbout the Performer \nDuring his career\, Chris Coogan has appeared alongside Stevie Van Zandt\, Sal Salvador\, Ronnie Spector\, Harold Danko\, Darlene Love\, Donna Summer\, Phoebe Snow\, Maya Angelou\, Richard Smallwood\, and Ben E. King\, among others\, as well as arranging for Teo Maceo\, producer for the late Miles Davis. Coogan has appeared on television’s Celebrity Jeopardy and the Arsenio Hall Show and has performed at Manhattan’s Blue Note and the Montreaux Jazz Festival. He has written and performed original gospel music for a PBS documentary about evangelist Amy Semple McPherson\, and worked with Emmy-award winning composer Brian Keane. A Weston\, Connecticut native\, Coogan leads the Chris Coogan Quartet\, a jazz ensemble whose repertoire includes straight-ahead jazz\, fusion jazz and boogie-woogie\, and serves as the director of the Good News Gospel Choir. Additionally\, he teaches jazz piano and leads gospel workshops throughout the country to help reinvigorate church and community choirs. Accompanying Chris Coogan are John Mobilio (bass)\, Jim Royle (drums)\, Jim Clark (sax)\, and Rex Denton (trumpet). \n  \n  \nJazz Fridays at the Fairfield Museum is made possible by the generous support of Alan and Sylvia Neigher\, Bank of America\, and the CT Arts Endowment Program.
