Many of Fairfield’s revolutionary figures now rest in the Old Burying Ground\, including: Brigadier General Gold Selleck Silliman\, daring ship captain Samuel Smedley\, Reverend Andrew Eliot\, patriots Thaddeus Burr and Eunice Dennie Burr\, Caleb Brewster of the Culper Spy Ring\, and many more. Discover stories of courage\, conviction\, and intrigue that helped shape a new nation. \nRegistration is required. $15 for members; $20 for non-members. \nRain Date: June 27 \n  \nProgram Details: \n\nProgram meets at Fairfield Museum Lobby.\nPre-registration is required—no drop-ins will be allowed.\nNo physical ticket will be mailed. Check in using your name.\nTour is approximately 90 minutes long and will start promptly.\nThis program is recommended for adults and kids ages 14 and up.\nPlease dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. Fairfield’s taprooms connected the town with the world\, strategically located close to the bustling harbors in Southport and Black Rock\, as well as the colonies’ major thoroughfare\, the King’s Highway (now Post Road and Old Post Road). Dive into the final resting place for many notable local residents\, including Mabel Osgood Wright\, Jason Robards\, and Mary Tyler Moore. You’ll also discover the cemetery’s design as a place for the living with its role as an arboretum and many natural features. \nSpace is limited.
