Bike Tour of Black Rock | Saturday, September 8, 1:30pm – 3:30pm
Join us on a bicycle tour of the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, as we ride back in time to the Revolutionary War, when Black Rock was part of Fairfield and its sailors and ships plied Long Island Sound. Participants will see the sight of a colonial fort, homes of patriot captains, and the wharves they sailed from. Your guides will discuss the espionage that took place with the “Culper Spy Ring” and show you where Caleb Brewster would settle when his spy days were done. The bike tour will begin, and end, at Captain’s Cove where riders may take advantage of the Black Rock Harbor Boat Tour at 4:00pm. Bicycle helmets required. Children 14 years and older are welcome, accompanied by and an adult.

Black Rock Harbor Boat Tour | Saturday, September 8, 4 – 5:30pm
Spend the afternoon on a guided boat tour of historic Black Rock Harbor aboard the comfortable forty foot Navy launch, “Chief”, narrated by Bruce Williams of Captain’s Cove. Enjoy scenic views of Black Rock historic sites, such as Black Rock Lighthouse on Fayerweather Island, sites of eighteenth century shipyards and wharves, St. Mary’s by the Sea, and the George Hotel during this excursion on Black Rock Harbor.
