Black Rock Day at the Fairfield Museum and History Center

Museum and Black Rock 375 exhibit open free of charge to all Black Rock residents.

View the newest exhibition and the newly restored Robert Lambdin mural of Old Black Rock Harbor!

Enjoy family activities, light fare courtesy of Walrus + Carpenter, and beverages, including special Aspetuck Brew Lab’s Black Rock Ale! Music will be provided by Black Rock’s own Lake Avenue Project band.

The winners of the Black Rock 375 Essay Contest will read their works!

1st  Place              Normiana Manzano, St Ann Academy,  “Bridgeport and Black Rock’s Role in the World Wars.

2nd  Place             Monique Harvey, Geraldine Claytor Academy,   “Were Black Rock Residents Patriots or Loyalists?”

3rd Place             Charles Collins, Black Rock School,   “Kaye Williams and Captain’s Cove Seaport”

Award-winning journalist and author Anna Redding will talk about Kate Moore, the Black Rock Harbor Lighthouse hero, and her amazing mission to save lives and keep the light burning. Redding will give us a sneak peek into the children’s book she’s written about Kate.
