Exploring Women’s Suffrage through 50 Historic Treasures

August 9 @ 4:00 pm

Historian and curator Jessica Jenkins will present a new perspective on the suffrage movement by using tangible objects as a means of bringing the history of women’s suffrage to life. She will discuss a range of objects from the women’s suffrage movement and explore how material culture can provide deeper context to the rallying cry “Votes for Women!”

“Voting Was Just the Beginning: 100 Years of Women Making History” marks the centennial of women’s suffrage and celebrates achievements of women leaders nationally. Presented in partnership with Fairfield County’s Community Foundation’s The Fund for Women & Girls and the League of Women Voters of Fairfield, CT.
