Legends and Hauntings: A Halloween Experience in the Old Burying Ground

October 30 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$20

Fairfield’s history comes alive in the town’s centuries-old Burying Ground when the spirits share the scary legends of days gone by. Feel your spine shiver listening to true ghost stories and local folklore as night descends and the dry leaves rustle in the trees.

Did body snatching happen in the cemetery? Did witches really live in Fairfield? What do all those skulls on the grave stones mean?

As you walk among the ancient gravestones of the Old Burying Ground, prepare to be greeted by some of the spellbinding characters buried there. Meet Eunice Burr, Samuel Smedley and Goody Knapp who was convicted and executed for witchcraft in 1653, while discovering long-buried legends that have haunted Fairfield for nearly 400 years.

Legends and Hauntings Immersive Experiences will take place on Friday, October 29 and Saturday, October 30, 2021 with showings at 6, 6:20, 6:40, 7, 7:20, 7:40, 8, and 8:20pm.

Tours are 45 minutes long and will depart every 20 minutes beginning at 6:00 PM. This program is recommended for adults and kids ages 12 and up.

Registration is required. In the case of inclement weather, we will make every effort to reschedule tours.
