LiveGirl: Your Voice Matters (Legislative Issues for Girls)

September 24 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Thursday, September 10, 6:30pm – 7:30pm

“When the whole world is silent, even one voice is powerful.”- Malala

Your voice (and future vote) matters! Join us for a nonpartisan, interactive one hour workshop to learn more about how YOU can rise up and effect positive change. You’ll learn some history on how women secured the right to vote, the importance of advocacy, and the key legislative issues impacting girls and women. You’ll then work with peers on the issue that matters most to you to develop your own call to action. Girls will leave feeling empowered to make her voice heard.

Free of charge, recommended for girls grades 5-9.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the workshop.

“Voting Was Just the Beginning: 100 Years of Women Making History” marks the centennial of women’s suffrage and celebrates achievements of women leaders nationally. Presented in partnership with Fairfield County’s Community Foundation’s The Fund for Women & Girls and the League of Women Voters of Fairfield, CT, and supported by CT Humanities.
