“Old Post Road” Walking Tour
August 19, 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
$5.00 – $10.00
Join us on a tour down the Old Post Road which once served as the primary thoroughfare through Fairfield dating back hundreds of years. Originally a Native American shoreline trading and traveling route, it was named as a section of “King’s Highway” in the 1700s, and by the 1800s, it was renamed Main Street. Travel back through time on this walking tour to learn the route’s fascinating history along with the many amazing historic sites on its path including the Rowland and Smedley lots, the Unquowa Hotel, the Fairfield Public Library, and the home of Ely S. Parker.
