Pie “Night” at the Sun Tavern

November 17 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

Join us in an authentic colonial tavern for this fun afternoon which harkens back to an old Fairfield tradition with some modern twists featuring Leslie Evans, food historian, museum director of Avery-Copp House in Groton.

Leslie will lead an interactive presentation that focuses on 19th century foods and what life was like living on a farm. Sample some seasonal snacks, learn about long term food preservation, and try your hand at some kitchen chores. Of course you get to participate in all of this while feasting on a delicious assortment of pies!

Stick around and have fun trying your luck with Fairfield trivia and learn some incredible facts from the town’s long history.

We are asking members of the community to share a homemade pie. This wonderful night won’t happen without you! If you  are interested in bringing a pie please email the Director of Programs at mbarraco@fairfieldhs.org
