Investing in America: The John E. Herzog Collection
July 28, 2024 — July 6, 2025 |
After the stock market crashed in 1987, John E. Herzog saw the opportunity to establish a museum to enhance public understanding of finance and economic history. He founded the Museum of American Finance in New York City that year. In 2022, Herzog generously donated a large collection of financial materials to the Museum’s archives with the goal of encouraging visitors to learn more about the fascinating history of Fairfield, and America’s financial growth.
The items on view in this exhibition in our Library foyer are just a sample of the numerous items donated by Herzog. From the establishment of the railroad to the success of companies still operating today, the materials on display help trace the significant history of America’s economic growth.
