Reopening the Fairfield Museum: Phase 1
The Fairfield Museum re-opened to the public on Monday, June 22, 2020. The Museum will be open for visitors every day from 10AM to 4PM. The Research Library will be open by appointment only from Wednesday through Saturday.
The Fairfield Museum has been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized prior to opening, and ongoing cleaning protocols and trainings are in place to ensure the safety of our visitors and staff. During the pandemic closure, the Fairfield Museum took the opportunity to renovate many of our spaces, including our lobby, meeting hall, and other public areas.
Fairfield Museum staff will limit their interaction with the public while practicing 6-feet of social distancing. If we interact with the public, we will do so while wearing face masks as required by the State of Connecticut guidelines.
Some Museum staff will be working remotely and can be contacted via email (click here for a staff directory)
If you have general questions, please contact us at: email@example.com or call (203) 259-1598.
We look forward to seeing you back at the Fairfield Museum!
What to Expect When Visiting Fairfield Museum
The Fairfield Museum will re-open beginning Monday, June 22, 2020. The Museum will be open for visitors every day from 10AM to 4PM. The Research Library will be accessible by appointment only from Wednesday through Saturday.
The Fairfield Museum is waiving its normal admission fees through August. We welcome visitors to make an admissions donation to help support the Museum’s programs and exhibits. The $5 daily research fee for the Library will remain in place for non-members. As always, the Fairfield Museum is free for Museum members and we invite you to join us to enjoy the many benefits of membership.
The Museum will be open to the public at 50% capacity, which adheres to the social distancing guidelines set by the State of Connecticut. All visitors will be required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing while enjoying the Museum’s galleries.
At our front desk, you will be greeted by our Visitor Service Manager who will be behind a plexiglass screen. Cash donations for admission will be welcome in our donation box, or you may contribute by credit card using our Point of Sale machine which will be sanitized after each transaction. Hand sanitizer and disposable face masks will be available for your use. The Fairfield Museum’s COVID-19 policies and procedures will be displayed at the Front Desk for your reference.
All medically able visitors over the age of two are required to properly wear a face mask at all times while inside the Fairfield Museum. If a guest does not have a facemask, a disposable one will be provided for $1. Fairfield Museum does recognize that not all guests are medically able to wear a mask that complies with this mandate, and our Visitor Service staff may make minimal exceptions to this requirement on a case-by-case basis. Guests medically unable to wear a mask will be required to maintain a minimum six-foot distance from all other Museum visitors and staff, and may be instructed not to visit certain areas of the Museum where maintaining a 6-foot distance would be difficult.
