Somewhere deep inside the Fairfield Museum, an elite group of recruits is lurking in the shadows preparing to take on top secret missions. No one really knows who they are, or for that matter, what they’re really up to. Now it’s your turn to join their ranks. Each day at Spy Camp is filled with top secret briefings and activities that will put spy skills and street smarts to the test. Aspiring recruits will hone their craft and hit the streets to run training missions. Develop a disguise for cover, make and break codes, and discover escape techniques. All of this and more awaits young recruits!
July 25 – 29
Ever wonder how your favorite graphic novels and comic books are made? Well, this summer, join Fairfield Museum educators in learning the fun, engaging art of comics. By delving into our own local regional history, as well as other topics and themes, participants will walk away with their own completed masterpiece. Comic art naturally extends into other interests, such as storyboard design, setting up your camper for a lifetime interest!

Underneath the grounds of the Fairfield Museum’s historic town green lie artifacts waiting to be uncovered. The museum is looking for a dedicated group of young learners to assist! Young archaeologists will participate in a wide variety of activities, including scavenger hunts, missions, and beach digs. Participants will learn about what it means to be an archaeologist, as well as what we can learn from older artifacts.
August 8 – 12
If you think doing your laundry is exhausting, try making your own fabric! Join Fairfield Museum educators and artists as we learn the intricacies of creating textiles during the Colonial Era. Participants will learn what is required to make many early American items still in use today! Different techniques will be learned, and textile pieces from the museum’s collection will be shown. Through experimentation with wool, weaving, and sewing, campers will learn new skills to use throughout their lives. Creating natural dyes, such as indigo, will bring newfound appreciation to the world of textiles.
August 15 – 19
Shrink down a little bit, and create your own tiny world! For a fun week, join the Fairfield Museum in exploring the pursuit of model making, dioramas, and little houses. Through looking at the museum’s collection of antique doll houses and models, participants will learn the intricacies of scaling, as well as the creative joys of world building. Colonial house replicas will be created, complete with period furnishing and décor.
August 22 – 26
Journey back in time with the Fairfield Museum! Through a variety of fun and engaging crafts and projects, your camper will get to explore many of the museum’s historic buildings. Participants will look at how schools operated in the early 1800s at the Old Academy building, and learn about the role of community in the Colonial Era at the Sun Tavern.
