Enjoy free admission all day at the Fairfield Museum and the c. 1750 Ogden House (located at 1520 Bronson Road).
At the Fairfield Museum
10 am-4 pm:
- Dressed to Impress Exhibition: Travel through different eras to see how women dressed to impress for special occasions, exploring nearly 100 years of captivating fashion from the Fairfield Museum’s collection.
- Building an American Voice Exhibition: Explores moment in local and national history that highlight how people of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures took action to advocate for social justice, fought for civil rights, and often succeeded in enacting change.
11:30 am-1:30 pm:
- Drop-in Drawing: Local teacher & artist Omyra Rivera will share techniques for drawing outdoors. All ages and levels of experience are welcome. Materials will be provided.
- Visit the historic Sun Tavern, rebuilt in 1780 after the 1779 Burning of Fairfield.
- Enjoy the dedicated early childhood space in the Victorian Cottage, where children can learn, explore, and play.
- Explore Fairfield’s agricultural roots in the Victorian Barn.
At the Ogden House
7:30-9:30 am:
- Kick off the day with a Bird Walk at Oak Lawn Cemetery & Arboretum with CT Audubon. Click here to register for the Bird Walk.
10 am-4 pm:
- Tours of Ogden House
- Living History demonstration
1-3 pm:
- Make your own posy (a small bouquet) with fresh flowers (while supplies last).
- Learn more about the Fairfield Pollinator Pathway.
- Explore the pollinator garden at Oak Lawn Cemetery & Arboretum.
- Light refreshments.
1:30 pm:
- 18th-Century Ecology Tour: The Native & Non-Native Plants of the Ogden House Property (approx. 20 minutes)
2 pm:
- Beekeeping at Ogden Tour: 18th-Century & Modern Practices (approx. 20 minutes)
