About the Artist

Award-winning New England artist ShawnaLee W. Kwashnak loves animals, warm coffee, and bringing joy to others by creating fine arts portraits in charcoals or oils. She received two Artist Respond Grants from the DECD/CT Office of the Arts to teach Pandemic Portraiture that culminated in an historic book: “Pandemic Portraiture: Reflections of Healing”. Her work is widely collected and published, including the upcoming issue for the Community Horse magazine. ShawnaLee, a Cum Laude graduate from Western Connecticut State University, is a mother of three amazing young adults, leader of an active Girl Scout Troop working towards their Gold Awards, and shares her art studio space with five cats, a rabbit, turtle, and, if horses could come inside, the horse, too!
