Historic buildings in the town of Fairfield date to the 1700s, preserving its colonial origins. Many more historical buildings constructed over the next 200-plus years can also be found, reflecting a delightful variety of architectural styles with unique stories of their own, including one of the first Gothic Revival homes in the country, the 19th-century Burr Sherwood Cottage, the historic buildings on the oldest private songbird sanctuary, and many more.
From the comfort of a charter bus, the tour will feature some 20 buildings and homes and include several special interior stops!
Led by Walter D. Matis, Program Coordinator at the Fairfield Museum and History Center. At the end of the bus tour, enjoy a special reception & explore the Museum’s new exhibition Creating Community: 400 Years of Fairfield Stories.
The tour will depart from the Fairfield Museum, 370 Beach Road, Fairfield, CT. Parking available in the adjoining lot.
