About the Speaker

Morgan Bengel is the Curator and Site Administrator for Old New-Gate Prison & Copper Mine. She received her Bachelor of Arts in History and Museum Studies from the University of Michigan and her master’s degree in public history from Central Connecticut State University.  Her role at New-Gate ranges from stocking toilet paper to managing millions of dollars in grant projects, and everything in between. She strives to connect people to the past to help foster a greater future.
