Baseball has long held a special place in the hearts of Americans, and that is particularly true of our presidents. FDR considered it essential that major league baseball continue to be played throughout the war and took specific steps to ensure that it was. George W. Bush believed that throwing out a pitch at Yankee Stadium in the 2001 World Series following 9/11 was the perfect symbol that the American way of life would proceed undeterred. Join local author Dan Coonan to explore the special relationship our national pastime has enjoyed with our Commanders-in-Chief through the decades.
