Lantern Tour: Mountain Grove Cemetery

Stop for a spell amongst rustling leaves and winding paths for a special tour exploring the connections to planes, trains, and automobiles found within Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport. Pay your respects to showman & politician P.T. Barnum, Alfred Bishop of Housatonic Railroad, aerospace engineer Anselm Franz, car manufacturer Isaac Trumbull, lighthouse keeper Kathleen Moore, and more.
Registration is required. Members: $15; Non-Members: $20.
Tour Location: Enter through the gate at the intersection of North Ave. & Dewey St. in Bridgeport and follow the signs for parking.
Program Details
- Pre-registration is required—no drop-ins will be allowed.
- Tours are approximately 90 minutes long and will depart on their ghostly journey promptly at 10 AM
- This program is recommended for adults and kids ages 12 and up.
- Restrooms will be available.
- Please note that there will be one section of the tour that has a gradual uphill walk.
- Please note this walking tour is about 1 mile long.
- Personal photography is permitted at Museum programs. Continuous audio or video recording of our programs is not permitted.
- Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. We will be standing and walking for extended periods, mostly on paved roads throughout the cemetery.

- No refunds will be given unless the program is cancelled by the Fairfield Museum.
