Located on the Westport-Fairfield town lines, the Fairfield County Hunt Club began as an informal polo-playing group in 1923. It has since grown into a nationally recognized venue for horse shows and equestrian sports. Local residents like Henry Rudkin, Fred Sturges, and Ira F. Warner invested in the Hunt Club’s success, developing it as a center for its community. The support of its members helped the Club navigate its way through the Great Depression, a Clubhouse fire in 1937, and World War II.
